So Trixie is of course, our Bonneville. T120 1200cc beast and loaded with Triumph classic style, sound, looks, while packing modern 21st century Motorcycle high tech. (Except the suspension, the rear end of the T120 is shameful, cheap pogo sticks!
And today we went for a quick run round the ‘Gladdie Loop’
Heading out from Upper Hutt over the Remutaka Pass and into South Wairarapa the 1200 Twin just gobbled up the road, sitting low and proud at 4krpm in 5th, with 6th to go and un-needed she just rumbled along sounding throaty, dulcet and full all at once. Nothing sounds like a well muffled yet breathing vertical twin….what an engine.
Saw a lot of other Triumphs too, and chatted with 2 other bikers at the Gladdy, one with a Mike Hailwood Ducati replica at home but was out on his daily rider, a real nice 1200XB… (AJ!) a slowly vanishing Buell, his was nicely customized, not overdone.
His mate was on a Fazzer he got cheap, was a lovely bike!
Photos show that we stopped at a lot of pubs for a wine, beer or coffee. No drink driving laws breached by chauffeur, and a lovely day enjoying the slow rolling big bore twin was had by all (aka Kelly and I)
My final judgement on the T120? One of the best bikes we’ve ever had, and a great ‘retirement’ ride for me, while being her favourite chariot of choice yet.

Maybe it would help with the suspension if you weren’t such a squat, obese piece of shit!
Cheers for that ‘Fred’ pity you dont have the balls to make such a statement with your real name. Have a great day ‘Fred’ I know I will 🙂
