One week left.
Time to exercise our right to democracy again.
This elections been touted as the Social Media Election. There has been the distractions of the Dirty Politics book by Hager, threats of legal action against the hand that feeds him by the Whaleoil blogger Cameron Slater, the marriage of convenience by Internet/Mana (wonder what Hone thinks of Laila Harre taking the chance on Backbencher to make a plug for Legalisation of Cannabis instead of the Feed the Kids policy?) and other ridiculous sideshows.
I know the leader of the Labour party, hes a top bloke.
I have met John Key as well, who didn’t even acknowledge there were any other people in the room with him.
I have met Winston Peters a number of times at my favourite city pub The Old Bailey (suitable as he is a lawyer)
Never met Kim Dotcom, never met Hone Harawera (but who wants to the mans a racist pig IMO)
My local MP is a mate, and I will be voting for him again based on the fact HE is a hard worker, decent all round bloke, and I like what he has to say on all the issues of the day.
Not interested in voting for the ‘leaf’ or purely on child poverty (some people need to help themselves and I feel for their kids but its not the ONLY issue in this election)
Not interested in supporting mining of our parks, drilling for oil off our coasts, nor will I agree to private charter schools.
Ultimately….everyone can vote for whoever they like, I just hope they don’t vote based on emotion as opposed to policy, and most of all, I hope they vote.
A non vote, is a vote for the incumbent corrupt regime that supports the 1%.
